The 29,093 sq.m./313,154 sq.ft Danone Research Facility (“DRF”) is located in the Saclay region of suburban Paris. The facility was specifically built for Group Danone in 2002 and serves as its global research and development headquarters. At closing, Danone Research entered into a nine-year lease guaranteed by its parent company, Groupe Danone (known as Dannon in the United States). Groupe Danone is a profitable multi-national consumer products corporation based in Paris and one of the largest dairy food and bottled water producers in the world. At the end of 2009, Danone held the #1 worldwide market share in fresh dairy products, the #2 share in bottled water, the #2 share in baby nutrition products (#1 share in Europe) and the #3 share in medical nutrition (#1 in Europe). Main brands include: Evian, Volvic, Dannon yogurt and Activia.
